Heinrich ‘Henri’ Davringhausen (1900 - 1970)

Heinrich Davringhausen was born in Aachen (Germany)  in 1900 and died in Nice in 1970. Davringhausen studied at the Düsseldorf academy and later with the painter Eckstein. Initially made figurative paintings.

 

His work was on view at the 'Entartete Kunst' exhibition. After wandering through Spain and Switzerland Heinrich Davringhausen settled in Paris in 1948.  Henri Davring had solo exhibitions at various galleries. Style is more or less geometric abstract.

 

Depending on his mood Heinrich Davringhausen produced works in exquisite soft tints, but also sometimes with strong contrasts in form and colour.
